Elvas bietet enormes milit\u00e4risches Erbe, wie das Schloss, das erste Geb\u00e4ude Portugals das zum Denkmal erkl\u00e4rt wurde. Die Mauern aus dem 17. Jahrhundert, das Milit\u00e4rmuseum, die Graca Festung, die Santa Luzia Festung und ihre drei weiteren kleinen Festungen erkl\u00e4ren den Spitznamen der Stadt \u201eK\u00f6nigin der Grenze.\u201c<\/p>\n Religi\u00f6se Stadt \u2013<\/strong> Ein Spaziergang durch das historische Zentrum erm\u00f6glicht einen Blick auf das reiche religi\u00f6se Erbe der Stadt mit wichtigen Bauwerken der christlichen, j\u00fcdischen und muslimischen Kulturen.<\/p>\n Das Amoreira Aqu\u00e4dukt \u2013<\/strong> Ein Denkmal das sich \u00fcber sieben Kilometer bis zu den Stadttoren zieht. Die Arbeiten begannen im Jahr 1530 um Wasser hinauf nach Elvas zu bringen. Die Bauarbeiten wurden jedoch erst ein Jahrhundert sp\u00e4ter beendet. Das muslimische Dorf wurde der portugiesischen Krone in der Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts \u00fcbergeben. Da es sich an der Hauptverteidigungslinie befand, wurde es immer wieder von kastilischen Truppen attackiert, bis es im 20. Jahrhundert an Stabilit\u00e4t gewann. Dieses Alentejo Dorf zeigt sein historisches und wichtiges Erbe mit Denkm\u00e4lern wie die Hauptkirche aus 1273, den Dorfpranger aus dem 14. Jahrhundert, die Kirche des Hl. Sebastian (S\u00e3o Sebasti\u00e3o) und die Kirche Nossa Senhora do Pa\u00e7o, beide zwischen dem 16. und 17. Jahrhundert entstanden, und der Santo Calv\u00e1rio oder Chapel of Nazar\u00e9 aus dem 18. Jahrhundert.<\/p>\n Anta da Coutada de Barbacena \u2013<\/strong> Ein Nationaldenkmal aus dem Neo-Chalkolithikum oder der Kupfer Zeit. Einer der 13 Dolmen der vom Patrimonium und Kulturamt klassifiziert wurde und Teil von Elvas arch\u00e4ologischer Dolmen Route ist.<\/p>\n Schloss Barbacena \u2013<\/strong> Es ist ein Befestigungsbau der Teil einer pr\u00e4chtigen Reihe von milit\u00e4rischen architektonischen Denkm\u00e4lern dieser Region ist. Heutzutage ist das Schloss in Privatbesitz. Man geht davon aus, dass es w\u00e4hrend der Herrschaft von K\u00f6nig Alfonso II (1248-1279) auf einer vorr\u00f6mischen Befestigung erbaut wurde. Es ist ein Fest ohne festgelegtes Datum, das immer dann stattfindet, wenn die BewohnerInnen von Campo Maior entscheiden, tausende Stunden zu investieren, um Rosen, Tulpen und viele andere Blumen aus Papier herzustellen, um die Stra\u00dfen von Campo Maior zu dekorieren. Es gibt einen dunkleren Ort, die Capela dos Ossos (Kapelle der Knochen), erbaut im Jahre 1766, und eine von nur drei solcher Kapellen in Portugal. Er ist an der Grenze der Gebiete Elvas, Arronches und Campo Maior. Der \u201eBorba\u201c Wein ist einer der ber\u00fchmtesten in ganz Portugal und kann am besten w\u00e4hrend des j\u00e4hrlichen Wein- und Weingarten Festivals (Festa da Vinha e do Vinho) genossen werden, welches in den ersten zwei November-Wochen stattfindet und jedes Jahr eine gro\u00dfe Zahl an BesucherInnen anzieht.<\/p>\n Monforte \u2013<\/strong> Das Dorf Monforte liegt am Gipfel eines massiven H\u00fcgels am linken Ufer des Robeira Grande, auf einem H\u00fcgel der wom\u00f6glich f\u00fcr den Namen des Dorfes \u201eMonforte\u201c verantwortlich ist. Das bedeutsamste Denkmal des Dorfes ist das Schloss, das mittlerweile eine Ruine ist. Wir empfehlen auch einen Ausflug zur Lusitanisch-R\u00f6mischen Villa des Torre de Palma (Villa Lusitano-Romana de Torre de Palma). Das Handwerk der Region wurde von Generation zu Generation weitergegeben.
