The three of us

After some years wondering, they finally arrived at their last stop: the Alentejo Plain.

They came from opposite hemispheres; Bobby carries African latitudes in his luggage: Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania, Sao Tome and Príncipe and South Africa, where he was born. Paula returned to the Alentejo after travelling all over the world as a tourist, a voluntary, a producer and a content director for Portuguese television.

They finally met on a small island in the Atlantic, shadowed by the Equator Line. On Príncipe island it was love at first sight and a shack. Literally. Tubarão, their faithful dog is a witness. Together they dreamt about a piece of land in Portugal, a place that could take them to the African savannah, far from the city but close enough to civilization, a place embraced by the sun from dawn till dusk, by the sound of the birds and the air of Puro Alentejo.

Come and share this dream with us.

The place

Nine hectares of Holm Oaks and Olive trees are the everyday life at Puro Alentejo. You can relax by the pool while you plan an historic route through the Alentejo towns and villages.

If you want company, you can join Paula, Bobby and Tubarão in the camp bar and later be surprised by the endless sunsets. At night, share stories at the Boma gathered around a warm fire under Alentejo skies. At camping Puro Alentejo anytime is a good time to arrive.

Park your motorhome or put up your tent, have a warm shower, charge your mobile and plan peaceful days in the company of friends, family and pets. Tubarão (Shark) is just fierce in name.

The region

Make Camping Puro Alentejo your base for small and big explorations of the Alto Alentejo border region. From here you are two hours from Lisbon, twenty minutes from the Spanish border and fifteen minutes from Elvas, a city declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Within a 20 km radius of Camping Puro Alentejo, you can visit national monuments from the distant Neo-chalcolithic, such as the Anta da Coutada of Barbacena, to the XVIIth century walls that makes Elvas queen of the border.

Here in Alentejo, on the plate you have bread, pork and olives, the main ingredients of this delicious gastronomy that rivals in flavour with the Iberic “jamon” from Spain.

On a route through History or wining and dining, you can always count on Paula and Bobby’s recommendations.
